Commit To The Bit – March 28th, 2023

Hey there blog family, been a little bit since I’ve have the chance to write a big blog update, and I wanted to talk through some of the progress that’s been made recently and where I am with my goals, and how things have progressed over the past month

The last time I wrote was February 13th, I’m going to structure this post into two sections, based around the goals I’m committing to: YouTube and my Fitness.

YouTube

So some big things came in this sector, both from a content standpoint as well as a personal development standpoint. During this ~1month period between February 13th and March 28th, I decided to enroll in Ali Abdaal’s Part Time Youtuber Academy, a course to teach those interested in how to become a YouTuber on the side. The course will teach all of the in’s and outs of creating a successful YouTube channel, and I could not be more excited. The course formally starts April 3rd, however I’ve already dove through a full weeks worth of lessons from prior Cohorts because I’m so eager to get started.

Some of the milestones I’ve accomplished so far that I’m proud of:

  • Bought a New Macbook Pro as a tool to commit to this YouTube journey. My old hardware was limiting me in many, many regards, so committing to this purchase is an investment in myself and the creation that I know I’m capable of.
  • Went through the full 29 lesson Final Cut Pro tutorial in a weeks time. Learned so many details about the intricacies of Final Cut and how it can make a smooth, effective video
  • Went though a full week and a half of PTYA lessons ahead of time and learned: How to find a Niche, Advanced Niching Concepts, How to Separate My Content, How to Talk on Camera more confidently, what goes into a good thumbnail, and how to keep generating ideas – something I inherently did without knowing
  • Made my first video that I was actually proud of – MacBook Pro Setup
  • Gained 42 subscribers! (117 to 159)
  • Met many, many people from around the globe with similar YouTube passions and journeys. Have connected and made accountability buddies with people in Brazil and Bulgaria, and this is even before the formal starting of the course. Eagerly awaiting what more comes
  • Am just feeling more comfortable with the process and how much easier it is getting speaking live on camera

As for my content and niche and how I want to figure out where to create, that is still up in the air and I want to nail that down over the course of the cohort. Theres a bunch of cool worksheets that have gotten me to start thinking about what I’m good at, as well as what I enjoy. I’ll write a big post around current thoughts for my next one.

Anyways, heres a fun little bar graph of my progress! If you see this, please subscribe!

Weight Loss

The F45 challenge completed over this series of time, and man oh man was I so happy with my results. I started off the first half of the challenge with a fierce start, and I started to break my streak slightly in the back half, but overall, hot damn am I proud of myself.

F45 Challenge Results:

  • Down 11 lbs
  • Gained 0.2lbs of Skeletal Muscle Mass
  • Lost 2.8% Body Fat

My weight isn’t where I want it to be overall just yet, so I’m so excited to continue my fitness and well-being journey forward. I’m so grateful for this gym and group of people there. F45 Midtown Detroit, y’all are the best.

Appreciate you all reading.

Commit to the bit.
